Terms of Service
These terms cover this website (jasonbellows.com) and Alfred, a personal assistant run by Jason Bellows, an individual in Utah, USA. "I" and "me" mean Jason Bellows. By using the website or Alfred's text messages, you agree to these terms.
1. What Alfred is
Alfred is a personal assistant that runs on my own computer. It helps with lists, reminders, notes and questions about my schedule. You can reach it by voice, a private chat page, Telegram and text message.
Alfred is a personal project. It is not currently offered to the public, and I don't sell it. Only I, Jason Bellows, use it. Guests may ask for a short, read-only preview by text, as described below.
2. Text message terms
- Program name: Alfred text messages from Jason Bellows (brand: Jason Bellows, sole proprietor). Text number: (435) 222-5084.
- Program description: Alfred is Jason Bellows's personal assistant. By text, it sends Jason replies to requests he texts in and reminders he set himself. It also lets a guest who asks get one short, read-only preview link to the assistant's dashboard, if Jason approves. Alfred only texts people who texted it first and replied Y to confirm. No marketing is sent.
For Jason Bellows (the account owner)
- How to opt in: Text JOIN or ALFRED to (435) 222-5084, then reply Y to the welcome message.
- What you get: Replies to requests you text in, reminders you set, and answers about your schedule.
- Message frequency: Message frequency varies.
For guests asking for a dashboard preview
- How to opt in: Text PREVIEW to (435) 222-5084 from your own phone, then reply Y to the welcome message.
- What you get: If Jason approves, one text with a one-time, read-only link to a preview of his assistant's dashboard that expires after about 30 minutes. If not, one text saying the preview isn't available.
- Message frequency: Up to 2 messages per request (the welcome and one reply). No more texts unless you text PREVIEW again.
- The preview: It is for viewing only. Please don't share the link or try to use it to reach anything else. Jason may decline or end a preview at any time.
For everyone
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply.
- Help: Reply HELP at any time for help. You can also email hello@jasonbellows.com or visit jasonbellows.com/sms.
- Stop: Reply STOP at any time to cancel. You'll get one message confirming you're unsubscribed, and no more after that. END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT and STOPALL also work. To get texts again later, text START, then sign up again.
- Customer support: hello@jasonbellows.com.
- Carriers: Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
- Privacy: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. See the Privacy Policy.

3. Using the website
You may read and link to this website. Please don't try to break into it, overload it, or use it to harm anyone.
4. No warranty
The website and Alfred are provided "as is" and "as available." Alfred is a work in progress and can make mistakes. It may miss a reminder, misunderstand a request, or be offline. Don't rely on it for anything urgent, medical, legal, financial or safety-related. To the extent the law allows, I make no warranties of any kind, express or implied.
5. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or time, that come from using or not being able to use the website or Alfred. Because nothing is sold, my total liability for any claim is limited to $0, or the lowest amount the law allows.
6. Paid plans
Nothing is for sale right now. There are no paid plans, subscriptions, trials or devices for sale, and I don't take payments.
If I ever offer Alfred to others, I'll update these terms first. Before anyone pays anything, this page will clearly say:
- What is being sold and what it includes.
- The price, in US dollars, and how often it is charged.
- How to cancel.
- When refunds are given.
- What happens to any trial hardware, such as a Mac mini.
- How to reach me for support.
Refunds
No payments are taken, so there is nothing to refund. A refund policy will be posted here before any paid plan starts.
Cancellation
There are no subscriptions to cancel. A cancellation policy will be posted here before any paid plan starts. You can always stop text messages by replying STOP.
7. Changes
I may update these terms. I'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using the website or Alfred's text messages after that, the new terms apply.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Utah.
